Meet the team behind the mission:

Ivo Arrey

Founder

Ivo has extensive Research and Development (R&D) experience in subjects related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Earth Monitoring, and Business Science. His background and related quantitative and analytical skills have been used to identify optimal solutions to complex, multi-objective decision problems ranging from the geosciences to public health.

Abdul-Latif Alhassan

Founder

Abdul has over 8 years of project management experience with demonstrated leadership locally and internationally. He holds an MA in Environmental Policy from Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN, Canada), a Level Five Award in Professional Consulting from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI, UK) and currently pursuing a PhD in Transdisciplinary Sustainability at MUN. He is enthusiastic about entrepreneurship and challenging himself to solve some of the most difficult adaptive/wicked problems in society.

Jackie-Ray Bauman

Founder

Jackie is an environmental policy researcher with Memorial University of Newfoundland and Intervale Associates Inc. She specializes in community-based research and engagement and has over 5 years of experience coordinating efforts to combat plastic pollution. She uses her expertise to help build local capacity for environmental stewardship. As a podcast host of the series, "Tracing Trash", and as a project coordinator, Jackie is dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of plastic pollution and inspiring others to take action.

Dr. Lakshman Galagedara

Advisor, External

Dr. Galagedara is a researcher and Professor of Environmental Science at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Grenfell. His focus is on land and water resources development & management leading to sustainable ecosystems, agriculture, and water and food security. His research interests and expertise include hydrogeological modeling, hydrogeophysics, contaminant transportation through porous media, agricultural water productivity, interdisciplinary approaches in sustainable water resources and watershed management, and water pollution control and wastewater treatment. 

Kanika Mathur

Software Developer

Kanika is a Bachelor of Science (pursuing Honours) from Memorial University of Newfoundland. In recognition of her academic excellence, Kanika earned a spot on the Dean’s List for 2023-2024. She brings expertise in both front-end and back-end development, with a strong focus on cloud technologies. Kanika also serves as the Chapter Coordinator for Canada Learning Code, where she helps foster the next generation of tech talent by promoting coding education and mentorship in the community. Her approach to development is rooted in a desire to create solutions that not only meet but exceed client expectations, ensuring high-quality work every time.
